Volunteer Campaign

For the last few months, the staff, clients and families at DePaul Family Services have been performing various community service projects for DePaul’s “3000 Hour” campaign in honor of our 30th Anniversary.

As of April 1st, more than 2900 hours of community service had already been completed. “We are only 3 months into this year-long campaign and we have almost reached our goal. It is so inspiring to see the commitment that the DePaul family has put into this project” said Kimberly Burrows, Director of Marketing and Business Development. “At the rate we are going, we could easily double our goal of 3000 hours” said Sue Bentley, Executive Director. Many of the hours came from DePaul’s four OPTIONS Day Support Centers. Together, these centers performed more than 2500 hours. At least once a week you can find clients from these centers helping their community through a volunteer project.

More than 50 organizations are benefiting from DePaul’s “3000 Hour” campaign, including the Ronald McDonald House in Roanoke. On March 26, members of the Clinical Services staff donned their DePaul t-shirts and prepared dinner for the families staying at the home. The Ronald McDonald house provides a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at local hospitals in Roanoke.

The end of March also marked the end of the first quarter for our year-long project. The following quarterly awards were given out for the “3000 Hour” Campaign.

  • Highest Number of Hours Performed by an Individual – 60 hours, Patricia Ronk, TFC Supervisor, Roanoke
  • Highest Average Number of Hours Performed by a DePaul Office – Charlottesville/Harrisonburg, 8.18 hours per person
  • Highest Average Number of Hours Performed by an OPTIONS Day Support Center – Waterlick, 20.93 hours per person
