Foster Parent Spotlight - Charlottesville Office Barbara and Maurice Wells celebrated their 10 year anniversary as foster parents with DePaul this year! We are so very thankful for all of the time, dedication and support they have offered to DePaul's children over the years! The Wells have provided both full-time and respite placements in their home and have had more than ten children benefit from their parenting. The Wells love to travel and have provided the youth in their home an opportunity to see and enjoy destinations both near and far. Whether it is a jaunt to the local ice cream parlor or a cruise on the open seas, Maurice and Barbara are always willing to share these special times as a family. For that we (and they) are truly appreciative.
In addition to the worldly explorations, Barbara and Maurice also offer their guidance to their permanent foster children from day to day. We are especially proud that they have helped their kids learn independent living skills. As foster parents to a sibling group of three for the past nine years, they have already helped one young man to leave their home and are now preparing to let another test out her wings in the world. We know that these kids will be able to be successful adults because of the love and guidance the Wells have been able to offer them. Of course there are times that have been tiring, especially when balancing full work schedules as well, but the Wells have stuck to their commitment to the youth and have made all the difference! Congrats on ten years with DePaul, we are so thankful for all you do!
