A fun trip to the Safari Park

During a warm summer day OPTIONS day-support in Waynesboro invited friends and family to visit the nearby Safari Park.

This summer, OPTIONS day-support participants frolicked through the petting area of the Natural Bridge Safari Park learning how to interact with different animals. The mentors taught our participants fun facts about the animals found at the park and the proper way to feed each one. They rode a hay wagon through the Safari where our tour guide, Brent, patiently explained intricacies about the animals and stopped often so we could feed the herds that came to the fence. When asked to account a memory from the park, a few individuals shouted "don't feed the zebras," remembering something Brent had told them.

Fortunately a few family members and a case manager from our local CSB were able to attend as well. After the event, the case manager stated, "I really enjoyed the Safari trip because it was nice to see clients having fun and learning from hands-on experience in the community."
