Foster Parent recognized with award

DePaul Foster Parent Janet Theimer awarded by Our Health Magazine.

DePaul foster parent Janet Theimer was recently named 2007 Best Bedside Manner winner for nurse practitioners in Southwest Virginia. The award was announced in the current issue of Our Health Magazine. The awards for medical professionals are sponsored jointly by the magazine, TV station WSLS 10 and Kroger and were determined by a public survey resulting in 9,300 votes. According to Our Health, the awards were based on “personal attention, time spent during a patient visit and overall compassion and understanding.”

Janet and Chris Theimer have been foster parents through DePaul’s Roanoke office since 2003 and staff who have had the pleasure of working with both of them are not surprised that Janet has won a professional award for attention, compassion and understanding. We know that the Theimers have shared those characteristics in abundance with the children who have been placed in their home. Congratulations, Janet!
