BECOME A CARE PROVIDER

Care Providers are families that open their homes to adults and children with developmental disabilities.

Primary Goal for Care Providers: To provide an individual oriented, yet family based home in which a person with developmental disabilities can become an active member of a family.

Care Providers Duties: Give compassion and attention, provide personal care, offer physical assistance and teach life skills to those who require varying levels of support (including 24 hour supervision). Our priority is to ensure that all the needs of the person with developmental disabilities are met.

Placement in the Care Providers Home: This is based on assessments and trial visits. We provide long-term and short-term placements which are based on the individual’s and family’s needs. A good working relationship consisting between our staff and the people involved in the individual’s life is essential for the placement to be a success.  DePaul Community Resources also encourages regular visitation with birth families.

Support: We believe that the more support available to both the client and the Care Providers, the more likely the placement will be a long term success.  We provide this support through our Social Work Services. This extra support allows our Care Providers to focus on the care of the individuals in their home.
