About Us DePaul Family Services, incorporated in 1977, is a non-profit, non-sectarian human services organization. We began by sponsoring a Treatment Foster Care program to provide a supportive family environment for children with special needs. Since that time the organization has continued to evolve in response to the changing needs of the community, children, youth and families. The Developmental Disabilities program was added in 1991 as a natural extension of our experience in serving individuals with developmental disabilities . We added our Clinical Services program in 1995 to provide outpatient and in-home therapy to the individuals served by our organization and to the community at large. In 2000, an Adoption Program was implemented in response to the increased emphasis on adoption for the child with special needs. Our programs are integrated, flexible and family-centered. We accept referrals from local Departments of Social Services, Community Services Boards, Juvenile Courts, State Training Centers and birth or adoptive parents. Our main office in Roanoke and other offices in Abingdon, Charlottesville, Christiansburg, Danville, Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, Waynesboro serve the communities of southwest and central Virginia.
